FAQ
- What kind of brush do you use to paint details on nails?
We are using nailart brushes, those really small ones. The spotter or detail brushes are great for drawing. If you want to draw lines/stripes, go for a striper brush, which is very long and thin. There are also different kinds like shorter ones.
- What nail polish do you use?
brands like p2, kiko, essence, aroma, claire’s, catrice, ..
base coat: essence nail hardener
top coat: any topcoat will do, we always buy ours in Vietnam
matte top coat: p2’s matte topcoat or rival de loop has a good base coat which can be used as a matte topcoat, essie’s matte about you
- Did you need a lot of practice?
We wouldn’t call it practice, but after years of painting your nails almost every week, you’ll get used to it and it will be easier.
- Where are you located and what do you do besides painting your nails?
We were born and we still live in Wuppertal, Germany. Full-time students, part-time waitresses at a sushi restaurant. We don’t do nails for others, only ours ;)
- Where did you buy your nailart tools (brushes etc) and konad stuff?
We got them from Vietnam and Thailand, but you can get all that stuff in any nailart shop. There are a also lot of online shops. We like to order here: bornprettystore ! They sell brushes, nail polish, stamping kits and other tools and decorations for nailart!! Also makeup and beauty stuff~
In Germany, you can buy brushes at a nailstore in Düsseldorf Arcaden. There you can find a lot of other things, too.
Nowadays nail art seems to be VERY popular. I saw a lot of drugstore brands sell brushes, stickers, stamps etc. For all German followers: Essence (DM, Kaufhof, Müller). KIKO sells nice brushes, too. We got an awesome fan brush for ombre nails!
- How do you shape your nails?
Just square with rounded corners. But it depends on your fingers/nails what will look best! Remember to file in only one direction so that your nails won’t break and file them every time before you do your nails. It’s better to do it more often, but only file a little bit every time, then it’s easier. That’s our opinion, don’t know if it really is the best thing to do ;)
- How do you keep your nails healthy?
Well, honestly our nails are not always healthy. But you should not have your nails painted every day! Let them ‘breathe’ once in a week. Also use hand and nail cream often, especially overnight. That makes them so much stronger the next day. Before doing your nails, use a base coat.
- Easy designs?
Drips, strawberries, dots, leo, roses!!
- How do you clean your brushes?
Put a little amount of nail polish remover on a cotton pad and then wipe or paint your brush on in until it’s clean.
- What should I do for my nails to dry faster?
In general you should paint 2 thin coats of your nail polish. It will dry faster, the color will be nicer and it will stay longer on yor nails. Put your fingers and nails under cold water after painting.
- What camera do you use?
We (Twins) use a Canon EOS 500D
I (Jenny) use a OLYMPUS µ1040 and the Canon EOS 550D
- Where did you get your rings?
Most of our rings are from h&m, claire’s, tally weijl, accessorize and six.
We got the Hello Kitty rings from a gachapon machine for 1 Euro each.

Hey there!
We are three friends from Germany. We love nailart, so we decided to create a blog to collect pictures of our nails.
